Your financial support is very important to us, and in this newsletter we are pleased to explain why one type of gift, the charitable gift annuity (CGA), has recently become an even more attractive way to meet your financial goals and support the SUNY Oneonta Foundation.
You may have heard the exciting news that as of January 23, 2023, SUNY Oneonta attained University Status. "This is a significant moment in our history," says President Alberto Cardelle. "Designation as a university will strengthen the future of our institution and boost prospects for enrollment, especially among international and graduate students. It showcases our commitment to progress and more accurately reflects the structure and rigor of our distinguished academic offerings."
The university designation will not change how SUNY Oneonta operates or its mission, but the institution's official name will shift to State University of New York at Oneonta. As such, the new legal name for planned gifts will be the State University of New York at Oneonta Foundation Corporation. Netzer Society members with planned gifts in place may want to consult their advisors to make them aware of this name change to update their documents.
